Juneteenth 2026
A Celebration of Freedom, Culture, and Community
Friday, June 19, 2026
Michigan
Juneteenth marks the moment when enslaved African Americans in Texas were finally informed of their freedom—more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation was signed. That delay tells an important truth: freedom in America has often been postponed, denied, or withheld even when promised.
For African-American families, Juneteenth is both a celebration and a reckoning.
It is a celebration of survival, culture, faith, and joy.
It is also a reckoning with history—and a call to continue the work of equity, dignity, and restoration today.
Why We Gather
Juneteenth is not just a historical observance. It is a living reminder that communities thrive when truth is honored and people are valued.
Through music, culture, fellowship, and shared remembrance, this celebration creates space for education, connection, and collective healing. It is a time to honor ancestors, affirm present-day resilience, and invest in a better future for generations to come.
Our Commitment to Community
Burrell Enterprises is the parent organization of Rising Restore Community Outreach. Together, we work year-round to support families, restore dignity, and strengthen communities across Michigan.
